For its breathtaking beauty, Sun Moon Lake is the must-visit place when Chinese tourists visit Taiwan.

On an average day, there are 10,000 Mainland Chinese tourists paying a visit to the site.

Premier Wu Den-yih hopes that the Sun Moon Lake could be the locomotive in the tourism industry in Nantou County.

Sun Moon Lake National Scenic Area Administration stressed that the measures to disperse the crowd are in place and the cable car extension project is estimated to be done in 2013, which is hoped to alleviate 25 percent of the traffic load.
