MA ENCOURAGES YOUTH TO PURSUE DREAMS
As part of the celebration of the Youth Day, President Ma Ying-jeou and pop star Wang Leehom were invited to a forum held at National Tsing-hua University, to talk about how young individuals should pursue their dreams.
President Ma said that people should develop their global outlook, while Wang emphasized in taking action without being afraid to fail. Despite the positive perspectives, a group of students protested outside the hall, asking the leader to stop the construction of Guoguang Petrochemical Plant and the Biling Reservoir in Hsinchu County.
Wearing a pair of jeans, President Ma Ying-jeou looks laid back during a discussion forum with famous pop singer Wang Leehom as part of the events to celebrate the Youth Day.
They talk about their dreams.
While the president encourages young people to develop a global vision and mindset, Wang hopes the young can take actions to pursue their dreams.
The president states that Taiwan is a constant winner in international innovation competition, which shows the country's soft power.
The two guests are even asked by the host, former president of Tsinghua University to sing.
However, outside of the auditorium, some college students are staging an action drama, asking the government to stop the building of the Guoguang Petrochemical Plant and the water reservoir of the Jianshih Township in Hsinchu County.
The protesting students take the chance to show posters when President Ma is leaving, hoping to show the president their voice and opinion.
