MA PLANS TO ANNOUNCE HIS RE-ELECTION BID ON SATURDAY
President Ma Ying-jeou is planning to announce his candidacy for re-election this coming Saturday. Ma has asked KMT Taipei City Councilor Carolyn Chieh, along with representatives from social and youth groups to show their support in taking part in the KMT's presidential primaries.
Under the leadership of KMT Taipei City Councilor Carolyn Chieh, representatives from nine major social youth groups, nine major campus youth groups, and civic youth representatives turned in
President Ma Ying-jeou's 2 million NT presidential primary registration deposit.
The "nine and nine" representatives and nine slogans were a symbol of Ma's "nine-nine" campaign motto.
Candidates interested in running in the KMT's presidential primaries will pick up registration forms on the 7th and 8th and register for the race on the 22nd and 23rd.
According to Chieh, Ma will attend a national campaign rally held for him by his supporters on the 9th and officially declare his candidacy.
