Combining Powers
The battle is getting more intense, and KMT's Hau Lung-pin is calling out the big gun, President Ma Ying-jeou to join him on his campaign trail. Meanwhile, DPP hopeful Su Tseng-chang and the DPP city council candidate are combining powers to rope in more votes. Now, let's follow our camera to see the two parties' efforts before the election day, which is less than a week away.
With KMT Chair Ma Ying-jeou personally leading the way, Hau Lung-pin headed to Huan Nan Market to draw in voter support.
Enthusiastic citizens embraced and shook hands with the candidate as President Ma chanted slogans.
By asking for Ma's help, Hau is not only pulling the KMT Chair support card, he's also pulling the president support card.
The KMT central party will, on November 21, hold a rally parade for Hau.
Earlier Saturday, DDP city council members have revealed that the Taipei City Hall is order all city hall workers to participate in the 11/21 rally, including contracted cleaning crews.
Hau says the Taipei City Hall did no such thing and only requested for Taekwondo fighter Yang Shu-jun's presence at the rally.
For two consecutive days, Su's camp has been repeatedly criticizing the KMT for pandering.
However, Ma will still assume his role as president as he calls on public support for Yang.
On the last Saturday before the big election, Hau is pulling the president support card to garner votes, while Su has teamed up with DPP council candidate.
Hopefully the recent enthusiastic activities will elicit a big voter turnout on the big day.
