<b>PRESIDENT MA OFFICIALLY RUNNING FOR RE-ELECTION</b>
President Ma Ying-jeou is officially running for re-election, and as the only contender from the KMT, the party is showing full support with more than 700 members at the scene of the recent campaign. Rallies will also be organized for the nation's leader in helping him to secure his current position.
President Ma is seeking re-election.
At the first campaign event organized by KMT central
When delivering a speech, he said the principles of reaching a prosperous society under the KMT administration are to fight corruption, push forward reforms and deepen unity. He counted the many political achievements in the past three years and expressed gratitude toward Premier Wu in the attendance for his hard work.
The presence of Premier Wu Den-yih at the campaign rally raised speculation that he could be a possible running mate for Ma, with some party delegates declaring their support for such a ticket.
Though uninvited to the event, vice president Vincent Siew went to Southern Taiwan for visit supports.
Observers shouldn't ignore the chances of "Ma-Siew Ticket."
If the KMT wants to create an image of unity, it has to appease different factions before the president confirms the choice of his running mate.
