A LIFE-SAVING NEW INVENTION
In the wake of massive devastation in Japan, preventive measures against natural disasters have once again become the hottest topic. And a life-saving invention by a Taichung citizen is now getting some serious attention. Here at CTS, let's learn about his creation that can get you out of buildings in just three seconds.
Security bars on windows often prevent escape from fire and also impede firefighters' rescue attempts.
However, with Mr. Chen's quick release device, people can leave the house in three second when there is an emergency.
Mr. Chen set up an iron bar that connects to the rod on the window security bars, and if emergency happens, it takes only a few seconds for people to push the security bars open.
He told us that he is a patient with spinal injuries and it is crucial for him to be able to leave the house if emergency such as the nightclub's fire or Japan's earthquake happens.
That's why he started to design the device that will help people escape immediately without allowing thieves to enter the house. He has received patent for the invention and he hopes that the design will help more people to escape easily and prevent more tragedies from happening.
