Taipei's first public hot spring foot bath was just opened at the end of last month, but a series of facility malfunctions have caused it to be "temporarily closed" for as many as 8 days, which has disappointed many visitors.

The pool has only been open for a few weeks, but was shut down for four days within one week of opening due to cracked installations that resulted in leaks.

The pool's pressure valves were manufactured with materials unable to withstand the high temperature and acidity of hot springs, and cracked within days.

Several days later, abnormal water output levels required that the pool be shut down another five days for further repairs.

The 6.3 million NT pool has been closed for repairs for a total of nine days since late January, and city councilors are calling on the city government to undertake comprehensive repairs immediately to protect the rights of the public to enjoy public facilities.
