Before the official opening day of this year's Yangmingshan Floral Festival on the 18th of February, many tourists are already heading to the scenery for a sneak peak. However, the view is not yet exciting because the recent cold breeze has delayed the flowering period for many plants, including the cherry blossoms.

The bright pink cherry blossoms and snow white plum blossoms shine brilliantly in the sunlight.

Taking advantage of the rare warm weather, tourists headed up Yangmingshan to enjoy the beautiful scenery.

The 31-day Yangmingshan Flower Festival will open on February 18th, but the flowering period of cherry blossoms has been delayed by up to two weeks due to the recent cold spell.

Many cherry blossoms and Indian azaleas have yet to bloom, which means that all types of flowers will blossom when temperatures finally start rising.

Experts say that the best time to visit the festival will be between late February and early March. The event is expected to attract at least 10,000 tourists.
