In greater Kaohsiung, KMT challenger Huang Chao-shun accused independent candidate Yang Chiu-hsing yesterday of trying to mislead voters by fabricating endorsement from supporters of Huang Jun-ying, a former KMT mayoral contender. But Yang's camp denied such a charge.

Examination Yuan Minister without Portfolio Huang Jun-ying unsuccessfully ran for Kaohsiung City mayor twice.

Competition is heating up between KMT Kaohsiung candidate Huang Chao-shun and independent candidate Yang Chiu-hsing, and both are fighting for the votes of Huang Jun-ying supporters.

Yang says that he has the support of the head of the "Friends of Huang Jun-ying" association, and that he can't understand why the identity of the organization has come under question.

The DPP's candidate in the race, Chen Chu, has declined to comment on the situation. In the last Kaohsiung City mayor election, Huang lost to Chen by a razor-thin margin of 1,000 votes after Chen accused him of vote-buying on the eve of the election.

Yang's campaign headquarters are located at the same place where Huang's campaign headquarters once stood.
