As for the mayoral election in Greater Kaohsiung,

KMT's Huang Chao-shun has put her name down for the battle, challenging against Kaohsiung Mayor Chen Chu. Huang reveals her mission to target the economic improvement, while Chen expresses her full confidence in securing her re-election.

Accompanied by Legislative Yuan President Wang Jin-pyng, Kaohsiung City Council Speaker Chuang Chi-wang, and Kaohsiung County Council Speaker Hsu Fu-sen,

the KMT's Huang Chao-shun arrived at the Kaohsiung Election Commission early Wednesday morning to register her candidacy for the Kaohsiung mayor race.

According to Wang, the KMT will use the power of unity to defeat the divided DPP.

Meanwhile, DPP candidate Chen Chu walked from her campaign headquarters to the Election Commission accompanied by Third Prince dancers and supporters, and said that she is confident that she will be re-elected.

Kaohsiung County Magistrate Yang Chiu-hsing, who had previously stated his intentions of running as an independent candidate after losing the DPP's primaries, is expected to register for the race on Thursday.
