According to the Consumers' Foundation, house seekers should be more careful when it comes to relying on brochures to help them find the perfect home. 80 percent of the pictures on the advertisements have been reported to be deceiving.

When opening the real estate brochure, pictures of apartments, houses and shops are presented in small sized images.

Many of them only show the surrounding environment and the streets instead of the interior of the actual building.

The Consumers Foundation Chinese Taipei has received several complains in regards to the advertisements that do not match the existing product.

Our reporter was there to ask the real estate agent, and he said that "this kind of situation is very common".

He added that "while many places are still occupied by tenants, and with the pressure of time, sometimes they are not able to get pictures from the inside".

In response to the accusation that the advertisements do not provide accurate information, the real estate agents said that they always bring the interested customers to see the building in person.

Therefore, the Consumers' Foundation can't fine the real estate agencies, but has asked them to improve the advertisements in selecting appropriate pictures.

In cases like this, people should also take time to do some research before putting down their money.
