Moms Protesting
We are constantly encouraging people to have babies, but many women have trouble finding public breastfeeding areas.
To strive for their deserved rights, a group of mothers and social workers are asking the government to pass the legislation that will back their actions as soon as possible.
Crying because of hunger, the one-year-old baby calmed down immediately when being breastfed.
Wang, a mother of two, finds breastfeeding in public normal. But she had some uncomfortable experiences when she tried to breastfeed her baby.
When Taipei Story House moved breastfeeding mothers to the restroom for the physically disabled back in 2005, the incident caused a public outcry.
Taiwan Breastfeeding Association has since started to push forward the legislation that permits breastfeeding in public.
But it takes five years and the bill is still kept in the legislature without further progress.
Therefore, representatives urge the legislature to quickly pass the statue specifically permitting breastfeeding in public during this year, so mothers across the country can be stress-free doing so.
