The government-sponsored bus is now available to take visitors on a ride to check out the locations that were struck by Typhoon Morakot last year. The 88 NT dollar trip will offer you a sight of the largest permanent housing, and a taste of the best taro ice at the Chiahsien Business District.

These busses are on the road and the first stop is Shanlin Township's Da Ai Village where visitors get off and immediately are greeted by permanent housing tenants.

An aboriginal dance performance is done for these guests, and there is not only something to see but also items for purchase as these small businesses are run by households who are selling agricultural products or handicrafts from the area.

They hope to earn a little income, as these tourists from these government sponsored busses come from the entrance of the community.

The management of the village believes that there still could be some improvements to the program.

The cost of the trip is 88 NT$, and it includes sightseeing in Chiahsien and Chishan district, the location of Typhoon Morakot disaster.

Because of these tours, business has increased 20%.

Currently visitors on this bus can take 4 busses a day, and on weekends and holidays more busses are added. On average, 200 people a day can visit the area.

It's a small bit of money for this community to make, as some believe that more efforts need to be made in marketing to truly take advantage of this program.
