Taiwan's Youngest Translator
One second grader already has an impressive skill under his belt. With a deep passion in reading English writings and listening to English folk songs, he is now taking on the important duty of translating children's books for the non-governmental organization, making him the youngest translator in Taiwan.
Without thinking twice, the 7-year-old boy from Chinghsin Elementary School interprets the story from English into Chinese instantly. From attending a bilingual kindergarten, and through his love of reading English works, Guo Chao-Chia manages to perfect the language. His father also contributed to his progress by speaking English with him at home. However, life was not always so smooth for the little one.
The young talent had suffered from heart problems since birth, but somehow, his disease was miraculously healed.
Since, his parents made sure he appreciates by urging him to take part in volunteer works. When asked whether he would translate the entire English Children's book given by Chou Ta-Kuan Foundation, the Taiwan's youngest translator agreed with no hesitation, continuing his path of giving back to the society.
