The Softer Side of Candidates
Aside from showing strength and determination when dealing with policy issues, candidates of the year end elections also seek to endear themselves to the public by revealing their softer sides. Both Hau Long-bin and Su Tseng-chang, rivals of the Taipei mayoral race, recently offered "behind-the-scenes" materials online to connect with voters on a more personal level.
The leading actors in the video are the staff members of DPP Taipei mayoral candidate Su Jen-chang.
Before hosting a pres conference, they had to race against time and made posters and decorations all by themselves.
These staff members are used to having lunchboxes and midnight meetings with the candidate so the candidate can look good in media.
Su's campaign debuts its first reality show featuring behind-the-scene looks of the campagin staff.
Su's rival Taipei mayor Hao Long-bing, who's busy with the city administration work while seeking re-election, has recently introduced a cartoon version of himself.
His strategists came up with the idea where the cartoon version of the mayor sings rap songs to promote his political achievements.
In addition to that, Hao's exclusive photographer Xiao-hsu uploads many of the photos taken when the mayor enjoyed casual moments, showing a personal and relaxing side of the candidate.
As the elections are heating up, campaign staff across the party lines are trying their best to get as much publicity as possible for the candidates they work for.
