Candidates of the year-end elections were busy with campaign activities last weekend. Eric Chu, the KMT candidate for Mayor of Xin Bei City, visited Bitan Park and expounded on his vision for riverside developments, while Taipei's mayor Hao Lung-bing, seeking re-election, tried to win the support of sports lovers by opening a baseball game.

Eric Chu patiently stands there as the master cuts out a human shape. He was at Bitan Riverside Park in Xintian to experience the riverside culture and even showed his caligraphy skills. Chu also rode a bicycle to experience the bike trails and didn't forget to announce his plans for new developments along the riverside. Chu said he has been riding his bike to visit voters since he started his campaign for Taoyuan County Magistrate.

In the future, he hopes to combine Taipei City and Xin Bei City's riverside developments to promote cycling. Not only does Chu have plans for Xin Bei City, Taipei City Mayor Hao Lungbing also placed his reelection campaign on sports. Hao opened the Pony League Youth Baseball Tournament.

He stressed that Taipei will host IBAF's first World Youth Baseball Tournament next year. He hopes to promote the sport of baseball with this in order to win more votes.
