Guasha Complications
With the recent weather being incredibly hot, some people tend to administer the Guasha technique in order to find relief from the heat. However, not everyone is suitable for the common folk method of repeatedly scraping the skin.
Here on CTS, let's find out who is not a preferable candidate for this treatment.
To help relieve Mr. Huang's high body temperature, headaches, and insomnia, a TMC practioner performs guasha scraping.
After only a few scrapes over Mr. Huang's neck, dark red streaks begin to appear on his skin.
The unbearable summer heat has driven many people to perform guasha scraping on themselves. But one man in this picture started developing large, red blisters on his neck region after scraping and was later diagnosed with Cellulitis.
As it turned out, the man had scraped over an unnoticed open wound.
Bacteria from the air or guasha scraper could have caused the infection.
In addition, not everyone is physically fit for this traditional therapeutic method - for instance, people who are already physically weak, such as those suffering from starvation, insomnia, or sleep deprivation, can nauseous or weaker from the increased blood flow caused by guasha scraping.
