MORE EVICTIONS UNDERWAY?
There was a lot of pushing and shoving on Wall Street, but not the kind associated with buying and selling on the trading floor. Irate Occupy Wall Street protesters, stunned by an early-morning eviction, came back to Zuccotti Park, home for the two-month old protest, but were temporarily blocked by police from re-entering. New York City, however, was not the only one looking to clean house. In London, authorities are planning to go back to court to clear out protesters from St. Paul's Cathedral. But London protesters were undaunted.
Protester: "The reason why I'm not concerned is because we've been faced with the possibility of this camp being swept away nearly every day since we've been here, so it's not a concern. We're here for a much greater reason, that is to address the social ills, not only on a national level but on an international level." And the evictions are rising to an international level too. Toronto has joined five U.S. cities in removing protesters.
