These aerial shots of Oakland show people standing around an injured "Occupy" protester lying on the ground in the northern California city. 　　Some 5,000 protesters shut down operations at Oakland's port and blocked traffic late on Wednesday evening in demonstrations against economic inequality and police brutality. 　　A port spokesman said operations at Oakland Port which handles about 39 billion dollars a year in imports and exports - had been "effectively shut down. 　　" The atmosphere turned tense after a protester was apparently struck by a car in downtown, and police fired teargas to disperse demonstrators. 　　Oakland was catapulted to the forefront of national anti-Wall Street protests last week when a former Marine was badly wounded during a confrontation with police.
