KMT TAKES PUNITIVE ACTIONS AGAINST LIAO WAN-LUNG FOR OFFENSIVE REMARKS
The KMT took punitive actions on Tuesday against Liao Wan-lung, member of the party's
Liao proposed in a KMT meeting early May that aborigines in Taiwan are not supposed to intermarry with other ethnic groups to preserve the purity of their race. He was even reported to have used a derogatory term meaning people of mixed blood in Chinese. Liao later apologized for his remarks and offered to resign. And the KMT has decided to suspend his rights as a party member for three months.
