The 171-day Taipei International Flora Exposition drew a perfect ending on Monday with the total attendance of nearly 9 million visitors. During the closing ceremony, fireworks lit up the night at the Dajia Riverside Park to celebrate the success of the expo, that is said to be the best horticultural event in 50 years.

The golden fireworks rise above the riverbank and illuminate the night sky as they blossom in the air.

The much-anticipated fireworks extravaganza took place on Monday night as part of the Taipei International Flora Exposition's closing ceremony.

Many remarked that the colorful fireworks, which appeared in the shape of blossoms and smiley faces, seemed to be alive and dancing in the sky.

14,000 fireworks were released during the 3-minute show, which cost an estimated 800,000 NT.

Although it lacked the designer fireworks found in the opening ceremony's show, weather conditions and visibility were better the second time around.
