The soaring cost of coffee beans has made it necessary for domestic coffee businesses to raise the prices of their products. According to a domestic coffee supplier, the price increase for instant coffee would be around 5-10% and convenient stores are expected to raise the price by 3-5 NT dollars per cup.

A cup of coffee is what many people use to start the day at work. It has become a habit for many but international coffee prices are now increasing.

One of the top three instant coffee brands on the market, Maxwell House, will hike prices next month by 5 to 10%.

Also, UCC has plans to increase prices, but the increase has yet to be determined.

All of these price increases will have to absorbed and then reflected in the price according to the local supermarket industry.

The gains will not only affect instant coffee, but also freshly brewed coffee which will become more expensive, like the Crown Fancy coffee chain who also reported next month that prices will rise 3-5NT$.

Also coffee beans may become more expensive as the industry says that in June, coffee prices will go higher.

So far, Starbucks, and the 85 C chain still have no plans for a price increase.
