CIVIL SERVICE EMPLOYMENT STILL ATTRACTIVE
Following the previous story, even without a raise, public sector jobs would still be popular because of the security they offer. And the number of test-takers for civil service exams has been steadily on the rise in recent years, making it increasingly difficult to land a government job.
With more and more people trying to become public servants, because of the sable career and a regular promotion system.
Tsai Shiang-wu, who is only 21 years old, decided to try his luck in the Civil Service Special Exam for police officers soon after graduating from Taiwan Police College and ranked No.1 in the exam.
27-year-old Lin Wu-jei, ranked No.1 in the Civil Service Special Examination for Judicial Official while passing the exam for lawyers at the same time.
Lee Wu-qian, who gave up her job as a flight attendant and took the civil service exam for railway administrative personnel.
For those who want to throw their hats into the ring in the civil service exam, they need to try harder because there are more and more competitors.
The passing rate of the Special Exams is particularly low, with a 2.34% passing rate in the examination for judicial official, and a 4% to 5% rate in the examination for diplomatic and investigation official.
The competition is even fiercer than the Junior and Senior Examinations.
Vice president, Vincent Siew, who ranked No.1 in the Civil Service Special Examination also encourages civil servants that they need to be familiar with their own work, and also listen to people's needs, in order to really serve the public.
