CABINET RESHUFFLE TO BE ANNOUNCED
A minor cabinet reshuffle is expected to be announced later this week. And it has been revealed so far that aside from the Department of Health and the National Youth Commission, the Mongolian and Tibetan Affairs Commission as well as the Council of Agriculture will also have a change in top management.
The Cabinet has launched the latest reshuffle.
According to reliable sources, the Executive Yuan may replace Department of Health minister Yaung Chi-liang, National Youth Commission minister Wang Yu-ting, Mongolian and Tibetan Affairs minister Kao Su-bo, and Council of Agriculture minister Chen Wu-hsiung.
The lastest cabinet reshuffle would be announced on Thursday at the soonest.
Some KMT lawmakers disapprove the reshuffle, stressing the cabinet should form a strong team to combat the upcoming legislator and presidential elections.
They worry the minimum reshuffle makes no difference.
If the government cannot regain public confidence in next year, it would likely impact the next legislator and presidential elections.
DPP lawmakers say they respect the ruling party's rights to cabinet reshuffle but the minor changes show the government didn't respond to what the public expects.
Both lawmakers from the ruling and opposition parties believe the reshuffle should include financial ministers since the government is suffering from issues such as worsening finance, the outrageous property market and uneven distribution of wealth.
