Fireworks Show at Tpe 101
The most anticipated event on the New Year's Eve was, of course, the fireworks display at Taipei 101. Designed by world-renowned explosive artist Cai Guo-Qiang, this year's pyrotechnics show lasted over three minutes and totally dazzled the crowd with splendor and creativity.
As revelers counted down to zero, the fireworks on top of Taipei 101 went off, illuminating the tall skyscraper in the middle.
Next red lights lit up the building, giving it the appearance of a red lantern welcoming Taiwan's 100th anniversary.
Afterwards, silvery lights ran down from the top of the 56th floor, giving a visual effect of a waterfall.
After the waterfall, green lights signified bamboo sprouting new leaves, and the leaves turned into blossoming flowers which then turned into an auspicious dragon spiraling up the 101 building before finally resting atop a pagoda.
The fireworks display utilized a 7-color palette scheme to memorialize Taiwan's entrance into its 100th founding year and signify an even brighter future.
