Sculpture Chu Ming says that his newest series was inspired by civilization and natural science, and that the three-dimensional pieces are aimed at exploring the relationship between human civilization and the natural sciences.
The sculptures symbolize how buildings or cubic structures restrict the living space of humans, human creativity, and humanistic development.
Chu believes that cubic shapes don't occur in nature and were created by mankind, but former Academia Sinica President Lee Yuan-tseh disagrees.
Regardless, the artist has dedicated his life to not only creating art, but also reflecting on life.
