New National Anthem Video Made Public
For our centennial celebration, the government is going outside the box by going against the tradition. The new national anthem video has just been made public, which aims at demonstrating the progress of Taiwan in the past 60 years. In addition, there will be 4 different versions of the song, to mark the nation's birthday in a significant manner.
The national anthem is a melody that many are familiar with. IN 2001, a black and white video of the national anthem was recorded, and remained unchanged for the next 100 years.
Now to celebrate the centenary of the ROC,
the national anthem has been updated.
Here we see an aboriginal chorus performing as we never thought that such a solemn national anthem could be transformed this way,
and the video films all across Taiwan, showing the most beautiful side of the island.
Responsible for the arrangement, Lee Che-yi, tried to subvert the traditional image of the national anthem.
The diversity of the national anthem during the
centenary celebrations includes a KTV version for those that can't read Chinese characters as they come with phonetic symbols.
Children also sign and give it new life,
and when they make this film, there are many miscues which made it difficult for the director.
The new version of the national anthem takeson many different perspectives and reflects the diversity of society in this centenary year as it also gives this classic anthem a refreshing new sound.
