The KMT lost the Taipei City Council deputy speaker seat to the DPP on Saturday, which was resulted from a split within their own party. To find out who violated the regulations by voting for a DPP candidate, the ruling party has ordered its Taipei City councilors to provide fingerprints on an affidavit to prove themselves. However, the move has been criticized by some of the KMT councilors as disrespectful.

The KMT caucus meeting took over one hour.

During the meeting, all the KMT city councilors were asked to have their fingerprints taken as a way to see who voted the DPP's vice speaker candidate.

While most people cooperated with the move, some were infuriated, as they believed the move was disrespectful.

Chen Yu-mei, who didn't get the vice speaker nomination, was suspected of voting against the blue camp's instruction.

When asked by media and her party fellowmen, she refused to comment and almost went teary.

No one is willing to reveal who did have their fingerprints taken, as it is a secret exclusive to the KMT.

Some of the party councilors say they want to conduct a lie-detecting test to punish the uncooperative party members.

Chairman of KMT's Taipei City headquarter Pan Jie-seng believes it is difficult to produce evidence without monitoring votes and it takes time.

Based on the decision reached in the working group of KMT, the party members who failed to follow the instruction to vote for assigned candidates will be penalized by the Evaluation and Disciplinary Committee.
