Twn United in Support of Yang
In response to the controversial ruling that disqualified Chinese Taipei Taekwondo athlete Yang Shu-chun from the Asian Games, the government issued a statement of protest on Wednesday, vowing to protect the rights and dignity of Taiwanese players. And politicians from both major parties also expressed their support for Yang in a rare display of solidarity.
The nation is outraged over the incident of Chinese Taipei athlete Yang Shu Jun being disqualified.
Presidential office made a release to show the regret and said that the priority is to protect the right and dignity of athletes from Taiwan.
Sports Affair Minister Dai Shia Lin protested against the Asian games in GuangJou for the unfair ruling.
Early Thursday morning, two Taipei city mayoral candidates, namely Hau LongBin and Su Jeng Chang visited traditional markets to garner votes for the upcoming election,
where both agreed that the ruling was unfair and the government should take a stand. It is a rare time to see pan green and pan blue candidate seeing eye to eye on an issue.
