Luzhou Line's Public Art
The MRT Luzhou Line, which is currently under trial run for a month, is not only the first line with platform screen doors but also the one that presents the beautiful combination of the stations' architectural designs and public art.
Luzhou station is the final destination on Luzhou Line.
In the past, this was a natural habitat where water birds would gather.
Now, there's a MRT station in its place, but public art continues this memory.
A huge painting of a egret can be seen when passengers first walk into the station.
There are also traces of the egret on the platform below.
The theme of the white egret continues on down the line to Hsuhuei Junior High.
The station's entrance and air tunnels all have white egrets on them.
This painting to welcome the wind further incorporates the idea of the natural habitat.
Besides the public art, the line is the first to use platform doors, to prevent people from falling onto the tracks.
There's also a train information system that tells passengers which station the train is at.
Once the train leaves the station, the light disappears.
Some people however feel the words are too small.
But, being able to see when the train arrives allows passengers to better time their travel.
