Weather Watch
Typhoon Megi, the biggest typhoon to ravage the Philippines this year is causing fierce winds and torrential rains here in Taiwan, although it didn't strike the island directly.
According to the Central Weather Bureau, with the ongoing interaction between the northeastern monsoon and the circumfluence of Super Typhoon Megi, we are seeing powerful winds especially in the Yilan, Hualian and Hsinchu areas.
In Yilan and Hualian, there has been a reported rainfall of 1,200 millimeters so far, and do expect more rain pouring down in the next couple of days. We are also reminding you to be cautious and to get your umbrella handy, because we will be experiencing wet days all the way until Friday.
