Herbal Clay Pot Chicken
Today we're going to Daxi, Taoyuan to try this special clay pot chicken. Prepared with free range hens that are up to 4 pounds and marinated for 6 hours in 12 different Chinese herbs, this delicious dish is not to be missed.
This piping hot chicken is ready to be served. It's a well-known dish in Daxi, Taoyuan, which is also called "Clay Pot Chicken".
At this place, it is prepared by marinating it in 12 different kinds of Chinese herbals and spices such as peppercorn, star anise, wolfberry, and gingseng.
Stuffed with garlic, spring onion and lemongrass, it must be marinated for six hours, before putting into a clay pot with huge pipes sticking out.
In order to give it a different flavor, this restaurant also uses acacia wood as its fuel.
The golden crunchy skin and soft juicy meat with its delicious smell make this meal to a mouth-watering experience.
