Job Market Remains Fierce
With the economy gradually bouncing back, we're seeing more and more job opportunities opening up on the market.
The recent job fair in northern Taiwan has attracted individuals of all ages, for the 2,800 new positions. But with the large number of applicants and the demand for certain skills, the competition remains extremely fierce for job seekers.
Originally a bus driver, Mr. Hsu, spent half a year studying a second skill in order to find a new job. Organized by the Bureau of Labor Affairs, this job fair has a total of 2,800 job opportunities available, which is 4.6 times more than last year.
However, many job openings require specialized skills, so the second time in employment or old job the people, making it difficult for middle aged and elderly people seeking a second profession.
For those without licenses or other special skills, many job providers say that as long as they have a proactive mindset they can find work.
The DGBAS's August unemployment rate was 5.17%, which was a decline of 0.03 percentage points when compared to July.
The reduction in the number of unemployed people was around 2,000 people for a total of 576,000 people.
