Lung Transplant Survivor
Asia's first successful lung transplant procedure has been carried out in Taiwan 14 years ago, becoming one of the island's most significant medical achievements.
Now, this patient is celebrating her rebirth with the medical team, as the longest surviving lung transplant recipient in Asia.
The first lung transplant in Asia was performed by the medical team of National Taiwan University Hospital in Taiwan 14 years ago.
Ms Chen, in order to lose weight, consumed 3 kilograms of star gooseberry in a month,
which caused serious fibrosis in both of her lungs. After nine months of waiting, she received the single lung transplant and had recovered well.
She returns to the hospital to thank the medical team for bringing her new life.
Ms Chen is also the longest surviving lung transplant recipient in Asia.
