Scouting Anniversary Parade
More than three thousand children and teenagers gathered in Taipeis Shih-lin district last weekend for a special scout parade, marking a revival of boy and girl scout activities in the city after a 15-year hiatus. Here at CTS, lets share the joy and fun of these little soldiers.
Waving flags and chanting loudly under the blazing sun, these scouts have formed a line to take part in the 15th anniversary scout carnival of Taiwan.
Don't be fooled by the size of these little young'uns. The energy they exude is comparable to their older counterparts.
These scouts have used old newspapers and yarn to form the head of the dancing lion and are holding incense in their hands to emulate their worshipping grandpas and grandmas.
Thirty-six degrees of blistering heat isn't enough to hold back the spirit of these energetic kids.
Some kids have made pompoms, others have made hats out of advertisements and pamphlets.
Even the kids performing the lion and dragon dance have added a twist to the traditional performance by wearing roller skates. There's so much to see as the 3000 scouts compete in design and spirit in this festive carnival.
