King of Wild Boar Sets Record
One man is making history in a wild way. Having caught 1000 boars total, the "King of Wild Boar" is setting a record for aboriginal hunters.
From Taitung County's Yanping Township, Ji Ya Nu is known for his exceptional skills among his Bunun tribe members.
Living up to his name as the "Wild Boar King", Ji Ya Nu has captured 1000 boars, including this one which weighs 130 kilograms.
Ji Ya Nu says that the tribe member's agricultural land is often destroyed by these boars, and to preserve their crops, he and his dogs work together in bringing down the male boars. He emphasizes that he doesn't go after the female boars, nor does he chase them down after they escape into the forests to avoid stopping them from procreating.
To this date, Ji Ya Nu has surpassed his father's amazing score of taking down 700 wild boars, and at 56-years-old, he has built a boar museum to display his skull collection as the master hunter.
