Yummy Fried Oyster
Today, we're taking you for an adventure at the Shilin Nightmarket here in Taipei.
This stand which specializes in fried oysters has been in the area for four decades, claiming its name as a must try dish among the locals and the visitors.
The white smoke is the evidence of the crispy fried oysters cooking in the pot.
Covered in a golden batter, this is the famous fried oyster at Shilin Nightmarket.
Having been here for forty years, the oysters from this stand are always juicy and fresh.
One of the secrets is the freshly made soybean powder as the base of the batter, then the cabbage, leek, and shallots stuffed with the big fat oysters that are bought fresh daily.
Dipped in the batter then fried till its crispy, this is why this place has survived for 40 years.
Last but not least, it is the secret house sauce that is made with bean curd and Chinese barbeque sauce that makes people visit there over and over again.
Not only the locals love it, even the foreign students love it too.
This stand has been passed on to the second generation, and it looks like it will be passed on for many years later.
