The fifth annual Musical Instrument Festival in Taichung County is taking place this weekend, and it will be its final year before the merging of the Taichung County and Taichung City.

With a funding of 2 million NT dollars from the Taichung County government in the past, it is still unclear whether the event, which regularly attracts a crowd of about 10,000 people, will continue in the future.

Traditional Chinese music with Western saxophone are mixed together and are full of harmony.

Then add the unique singing of Kinmen's Lee Ping-Hui and there is quite a lot to talk about.

These brilliant performances on stage do not let the audience forget about Taiwan's talent and fame.

This instrument claims to be the world's largest "Ocarina", as well as a blue and white porcelain flute which in the export market costs 30,000 NT$ helping Taiwan gain more international status.

This weekend in Houli the festival will take place, as many will not forget saxophones made in Houli which account for about 50% of world sales.

These locally produced items have benefited from research and manufacturing that meet international standards.

The fifth Taichung County Musical Instruments Festival attracts tens of thousands of visitors each year with "the hometown brass instruments," infused with local characteristics which may be threatened because of the merger of Taichung County and Taichung City.

This has meant that the Taichung County government is like that of a woman presenting a daughter and putting forward its best side to the tourists.
