Happy Zoo for Kids
A trip to the zoo may be enjoyable and fun, but how about working there? This summer, children in Taipei can get the chance to experience what it feels like to be a zoo employee.
The children were happy to help with removing a tooth from a tiger in the surgery room with all the preparation work. The joy is all written on the face of the fourth grader Chen Wan Ling who wants to become a veterinarian in the future.
Besides experiencing how hard it is to be a vet at the zoo, some other children experienced taking care of baby animals, including cleaning up their homes while measuring the animals growth progress, including height and weight.
Other children got to work as gardeners in the zoo and other jobs at the zoo through hands on experience. The program ends at the end of the year for young zoo visitors to experience 9 different zoo jobs, a great opportunity for parents to get involved too.
