EMMA WATSON RETURNS TO SCHOOL
She has been part of the Harry Potter series for more than 10 years, and now that the fantasy franchise has come to an end, what is next for actress Emma Watson?
For most 18-year-olds, a university degree is a necessary investment for a well-paying job, but for Emma Watson, who is already a multimillionaire as a result of playing Hermione Granger in the "Harry Potter" series, going to university seems more complex.
But the young actress knows exactly what she wants. She explained why she would turn down many amazing opportunities to study. She said she's been working solidly since she is 9 years old, and therefore, to have the space to learn and figure herself out a bit is obviously worth it.
But it's never easy, especially the pressure of fame for a world-know actress who try to live like a normal college student. Rumors said that Emma was bullied at Brown University, leading her to take some time off from her study after 18 months at the school. It is alleged that her fellow classmates said "10 points to Gryffindor" - a reference to a house at Hogwarts, the school for wizards in the Harry Potter films - when Emma correctly answered a question in class.
The allegation was denied by Emma, who said that the incident never even happened, and she's never been bullied in her life. She emphasized that her taking a semester off from Brown had nothing to do with bullying as the media have suggested.
She said this would give her more time to participate in the advertising buildup for the release of the second Deathly Hallows film, fashion and other acting projects.
As the final Harry Potter film is now in the theaters, breaking the north American box office in just a few days after it hits the big screen, Emma Watson is announcing that she will continue her study this fall. She said she will make up for lost time this fall with courses at Britain's esteemed Oxford University. Then she will return to Brown to complete her last year.
She'll feasibly working towards her degree, given that "My Week With Marilyn" and "The Perks of Being a Wallflower," the films she shot to following the "Harry Potter" franchise, won't need her for promotion until 2012.
