CHIU UNDER FIRE OVER WHA PERFORMANCE
Health Minister Chiu Wen-ta returned to Taiwan last weekend after attending the World Health Assembly in Geneva.
Chiu was charged with a special mission this time to express the ROC's strong protest over the WHO's referring to Taiwan as "a province of China."
But Chiu's performance during the WHA meeting was considered a huge letdown by DPP lawmakers, who criticized Chiu for not having pushed hard enough on the issue.
And the wording of the government's protest letter was also regarded as "too weak."
Even some KMT legislators voiced their disappointment in Chiu as well, saying that the minister and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs have not done as much as they should.
