AIT RESUMES VISA SERVICES
Good Visa services at the American Institute in Taiwan resumed yesterday after a brief suspension last week due to the arrival of U.S. evacuees from Japan. In a statement on its website, the AIT expressed appreciation for the patience of Taiwanese people, while also thanking the local authorities for their tremendous help with the U.S. evacuation effort.
People came early on Monday morning to process their visas as the American Institute in Taiwan had suspended visa applications last Friday, March 18th.
Some feared their U.S. travel plans would be delayed. Fortunately, the AIT was closed for only one day, and now everyone can smoothly process their visas.

The AIT closed for one day with AIT Spokesman Christopher R. Kavanagh paying a special visit to the scene noting that extra staff will be added this week to deal with visa matters.
The AIT also expressed thanks to all Taiwanese people for their patience.
Still, for some that experienced inconvenience because of Friday's visa service delays, AIT's delay was not that severe, and hoped that there wouldn't be a similar suspension of services in the future.
