RESUMING STUDIES BACK IN TAIWAN
The disaster in Japan has forced many Taiwanese students there to come back and resume their studies in the homeland.
In response, the Ministry of Education announced yesterday that it will offer full support to students with such requests and help to accommodate them into suitable schools.
In response to Japan's 9.0 earthquake, many Taiwan students are returning home to study.
The Ministry of Education passed a formal resolution pertaining to students from kindergarten to university, pledging their support as long as they apply for assistance.
The Ministry of Education says that primary and secondary school students can go to school after they make an application.
But high school and vocational schools are different, with counselors helping find the right school.
As for universities, the Ministry of Education is coordinating with each college, allowing students the chance to audit classes.
In addition, with radiation from Japan potentially coming to Taiwan, the Ministry of Education said that it would work with the Atomic Energy Council to suspend classes if radiation from Japan affects Taiwan.
In such case, schools will take preventive measures such as stopping outdoor activities and ask for students to carry masks and umbrellas.
