An international youth homestay program was launched on March first as part of the country's centennial celebrations, and the Council for Cultural Affairs is now open to applications from young people all over the world. Accepted applicants will enjoy a 2-week stay in Taiwan, with their flight tickets and accommodation expenses covered by the program.

Youths from 100 nations around the globe have been invited to apply for a two-week, all-expenses-paid stay in Taiwan in August.

Vice Premier Sean Chen, television personality Yu Mei-ren, and television producer Wang Wei-chung have all signed up as host families.

The Society of Wilderness' Lee Wei-wen says that he has wonderful memories of taking part in a foreign homestay program when he was in the Boy Scouts, and that he is more than willing to take part in the CCA's program.

Many further say that the program is a wonderful word-of-mouth way to promote Taiwan, Taiwanese cuisine, and the hospitality of Taiwanese people. Registration will open online next month.
