Following the controversy of deporting 14 Taiwanese fraud suspects to China from the Philippines, which has intensified the relationship between Taiwan and the Philippines, a special envoy has been sent to Taiwan in an attempt to clear up the tension. However, with no intention to apologize, the local government said that they are in the process of taking necessary actions, which may directly bring impact to the Filipino workers in Taiwan.

14 Taiwanese nationals were sent to China under suspicion of fraud, which created tension between Taiwan and the Philippines, even though Philippine President Aquino the third sent a special envoy to Taiwan, he insisted on not offering official apology to Taiwan, who even said that his country has no reason to say sorry to Taiwan even after the envoy returned.

Aquino believes that the tension can ease with other ways besides apologizing.

Local lawmakers are dismayed with the saying and had asked the government to put a freeze on importing any Philippine workers on top of any other kind of sanctions.

The DPP lawmakers are asking President Ma Ying-jeou to stand up to protect the sovereignty of Taiwan.
