A REUNION DINNER FOR ALL
With the Lunar New Year coming in less than two weeks, several civil groups are hosting reunion dinners for homeless people and the elderly who live alone.
A group of young draftees of substitute service also volunteered to perform at the dinner, making it a memorable and heart-warming banquet.
At a festive party, several old grannies and grandpas celebrate with the music.
It's a once a year event for the elderly who live alone to come together with 400 others like them and have fun.
Every year for twelve years, they look forward to this party that is held exclusively for them by the Old Persons Welfare league.
It's a great time to see old friends, eat great food, and enjoy the entertainment brought to them by young men in the alternative army service.
Another big event is a year-end "weiya" banquet held especially for the homeless and elderly who live alone.
This event is hosted by the Homeless, Genesis, and Huashan Social Welfare Foundations.
The banquet they hosted last year accommodated 1200 guests, but 15,000 guests showed up instead.
This year they are more prepared, with an arrangement that accommodates 2500 guests.
Meanwhile, they are asking the public to help chip in to allow those at the bottom of society to have a nice Chinese New Years feast.
