ATM KEYPADS VS PUBLIC RESTROOMS
What do ATM machines and public toilets have in common? The two share a dirty little secret that's about to be unveiled. According to a recent study from British researchers, the ATM keypads are just as germy as toilet seats, with the same level of bacterial contamination found on both. While similar bacteria are also detected, people are highly advised to wash their hands frequently to stay sick free.
According to a recent foreign research report, ATM keypads have high Pseudomonas and E. Coli counts.
If accidentally ingested, the bacteria could result in diarrhea or even infections.
Researchers previously developed a self-sterilizing ATM keypad that uses alcohol to kill bacteria, but the keypads have not yet been put into use because each cleaning takes five minutes.
Everyone is reminded to make a habit out of cleaning hands with alcohol and washing hands often to prevent bacterial infections.
