Ipad Finally Available in Taiwan
Six months after its global launch, apple fans in Taiwan are lining up so they can get their fingers on the sleek gadget. Three major telecommunications providers have announced their price plans, and they are looking to sell up to 100,000 of these tablet computers.
Apple's iPad has officially launched in Taiwan, and consumers began lining up outside stores at 4 a.m. despite the freezing weather.
Mr. Chang, who was the first person in line, says that he is a huge fan of Apple products. Telecom providers are selling authorized iPads for 29,000 NT, compared to 25,000 NT for gray market units.
Telecom providers are also packaging units with unlimited wireless Internet plans for around 690 NT per month. Limited plans are also available for as low as 225 NT per month.
With such low rates available, it comes as no surprise that Taiwanese consumers are willing to wait in line overnight for their iPads.
