The Cabinet's Golden Lady
Just call her the lady with the Midas touch. According to the newly released personal financial disclosure reports of government officials, Christina Liu, head of the Council for Economic Planning and Development, is now 6 million NT dollars richer than she was two years ago, all because of her wise investment in gold.
Council for Economic Planning and Development Minister Christina Liu is a gold investor.
The latest personal financial report released by the control Yuan indicated that Liu and her daughter each has a gold account.
Liu bought NT$10 million worth of gold 2 years ago, which is now worth over NT$16 million.
For those who are curious about the size of gold worth that much, a piece of gold of 12.5 kilograms is worth NT$1.35 million, which means Liu owns 12 pieces of the gold of that size, making her a real golden girl.
Bank staff said that, gold prices is still high right now, which is not a good time to buy for it is not the time when Liu bought her share, which is at a price almost half of current price.
