Gushan District is one of the earliest development areas in Kaohsiung City and is known for its ancient and unique structures. Lately, the traditional spot caught the eye of an art gallery owner, who has revamped the old development into a space for the talented ones.

This is an old storage located in Kaohsiung's Hamasen harbor.

But it is something that amazes the young.

The plain-looking old house is now made into a museum-like design.

Even the wooden staircases are renovated into bookshelves.

The sixty-year-old house was an office of a shipping company but it had been idle since the company moved away.

By a chance, artist Lin Wei-he rent the place, making the first floor an art gallery for new artists to showcase their works and the second floor into a tea house, where art and cultural activities are held.

The second floor only has a capacity of 30 people and once it was packed for a paying concert.

Lin was stunned to see the potential of art and cultural development of Kaohsiung.

Although it is not easy for a space like this to sustain on its own, Lin has gradually explored a feasible model for it to operate, offering a space to sell cultural and creative items.

Having been established for two years, the business has stablized.

The old storage has now become a new platform for cultural exchanges, giving the harbor some cultural significance.
